Hanks #128

https://www.facebook.com/hanks128/

Hanks Lodge #128 was chartered in 1850. The original Lodge building was soon after contracted to be built, and was completed in 1853. The lower floor of the building was used by many over the years with the blessings of the Hanks members to include the town hall, library, and the first reported school in the area. In the early 20's, the building was moved from it's original location using mules and logs from the edge of the Deep River to it's present location along Highway 22 (157 W. Main Street). Through fluctuations in membership and the civil War, the Lodge survived, never "going dark" or loosing it's original Charter, which still hangs displayed in the East and is passed from Master to Master every year. Hanks meets on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:30 PM.
